The Christmas Journey

For Year 2

The Christmas Journey's aim is that every child hears the Christmas story and also begins to understand some of the significance it has for Christians today.

To fulfil this aim, the children will each receive a Christmas Journey notebook, and the Christmas Journey team will take them back in time to meet the main characters of the first Christmas story.

After hearing the story from each of the character's perspectives, there is a craft activity in their notebooks to complete.  The children will be able to take these notebooks home as a reminder of the Christmas Journey story.

Finally, the children will hear from Mary and Joseph, and meet their new baby.  They will also be taught a lively Christmas song to remind them of the story, and there will be an opportunity during the course of the session to make a crown.

The whole 'Journey' will take approximately an hour and a half.

We offer both an in-person event which is hosted by a local church and a Virtual Christmas Journey which can be undertaken in the classroom. For those opting for the Virtual Christmas Journey, notebooks and craft items for the children together with Teachers notes are all provided and delivered FREE to the school in the middle of November. Links to the videos are sent by email.
